This hourglass style has withstood the test of time. The peplum has come along way since it’s 1940’s debut and 1980’s remake. (I am reminded of 1989 Kappa Alpha Theta pledge presentation, shoulder pads included!) The right peplum can look good on anyone and W by Worth offers several options. The Deep Blaze Poplin Drawstring Shirtdress can be worn alone, over leggings or open as a jacket. This option offers two trends in one, peplum plus orange! I personally can’t get enough of either. The Suede Stand Collar Peplum Jacket provides luxury, warmth and elegance. Add a pencil skirt or skinny jean and accent all the positives in tobacco and fawn. Combine lace and a peplum (another trend twofer) for the ultimate feminine look! The Lace and Ponte Peplum Blouse can be dressed up or down. Available in black or java roast, with either you can’t go wrong. The Optic White Pleated Peplum Shirt is a gorgeous 1980’s recreation (minus the shoulder pads). This crisp white top is the year-round staple. Perfect with jeans and the latest smoking slipper or booties. Whether you invest in all the trends this fall or just one, the peplum is a sure thing in the the very near future.
Donna, your blog is so great! I’ve loved the outfits you’ve created and seeing both the W and Stella and Dot Fall lines. You know, I’m not sure I have ever worn a Peplum. I remember e 80s trend but I don’t think I ever found the right one that worked for me…but I might have to try it this time around- I love that draw string dress. It would be so easy to throw on!
Thanks Meredith. I’ve enjoyed reading yours too. I read it via email. Looks like you are having so much fun in Miami. I miss seeing all of your fashion ‘live’ here in Dallas. Thanks for turning me on to W. it’s been so much fun!!
